Can bad breath spell bad health?

Bad breath, pawing at the mouth, difficulty eating and chewing food—these are but a few of the signs of poor oral health in dogs. Ignored, they can lead to gum inflammation and periodontal disease, which is caused by plaque and tartar buildup on dogs’ teeth.

Periodontal disease is one of the most prevalent diseases seen by veterinarians. Left untreated, it can destroy the gum, tooth, and bone. Fortunately, periodontal disease is also one of the easiest conditions to prevent.

Below are some products that Virbac has developed to promote good oral hygiene in dogs. If you have questions about any of these treatments, be sure to talk with your veterinarian. As with any treatment, always listen to your veterinarian’s instructions and read the product label.
