How did I wind up with a scaredy-cat?

Cats are often thought to be cool customers—creatures of habit that keep to themselves much of the time. But cats are in fact social animals. And when they have trouble adapting to their environment, they may show unwelcome changes in their behavior. Maybe they meow half the night, become fearful of people and other animals, or suddenly stop using the litter box.

There can be many causes for such behavior. These may be the result of anxiety triggered by changes within the household or problems with brain functioning that often affect older cats. Whatever the cause, it’s important to address problem behaviors, since they may become worse or be signs of serious medical conditions.

Below are some products that Virbac has developed to treat behavioral problems in cats. If you have questions about any of these treatments, be sure to talk with your veterinarian. As with any treatment, always listen to your veterinarian’s instructions and read the product label.
